Cathryn Urquhart has had a diverse career working for national law firms mainly in Insurance and Construction litigation, as well as time spent as a Claims Solicitor at Law Mutual, the professional indemnity insurance section of the Law Society of WA. She has lectured and tutored at universities in WA.

Currently, Cathryn is the Facilitator of the Legal Practice Management Course at the College of Law in WA. She also has her own business and works for a range of law firms and other businesses as a Professional Skills Trainer and Coach.

With this background, Cathryn has nearly 30 years of hands-on experience in both the practice of law and the support and training of lawyers in the fields of Risk Management, Practice Management, Professional Skills and Ethics.

Cathryn believes that the so-called “soft-skills” of networking, business development, communication, time-management, supervision and delegation are really not so easy. But they can be taught and should be practiced. They are essential tools for the modern lawyer to not only get by but to succeed in the current legal market.
